Combat Ready – 247365

Rannoch - June 6, 2008

This is the logo for Combat Ready. The philosophy is simply

Live How You Train

I’ve been working closely with Marcus Houston from Krav Maga Edinburgh. We bring a different set of skills to CR but it is the combined effort to produce something fully functional that excites me. The sum of the parts.

This is how we train. Pure and simple. There is nothing here that does not reflect our own practice.

It is all about
Knowledge In Action

Scalable - Anyone and everyone can train CR. You work within and sometimes at the edge of your own abilities, progressing at your own pace.

Measurable – Consistent practice is consistent with results. You do, you get.

We practice usable fitness – Usable? Quite simply, training in a way that compliments our lives, our jobs, our health, our well being and the activities we choose to pursue. We push hard, hard enough to adapt but not so hard as to harm. Understand the difference between discomfort and distress.

We practice functional self defense. Universal principles backed up by techniques that can be quickly hardwired. And then we drill. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes hard, sometimes easy. But always with the end result in mind. We turn capability into competence.

We practice to build strength not bulk. We want “Go” before “Show”. We swing and snatch kettlebells, we build speed, strength, endurance and mental toughness, the qualities that decide the outcome.

But most of all we practice what we preach.

Smile while you sweat, laugh when you fall.

All of this adds up to being Combat Ready. Ready – every hour, every day, anywhere, anytime.

There is no warm-up in real life!

Average people, exceptional results.
